Traffic Lane Shifts & Splits
2023 - 2024
1st Location
On westbound AND eastbound US-50 between the 26th Street exit and I-5.
What to Expect:
- Both the eastbound AND westbound traffic in Segment 1, between 26th Street and I-5, is being shifted to the north to complete work on the south side of the freeway. Motorists traveling eastbound will be shifted with cones to the left, toward the median. Motorists traveling westbound toward I-5 will be shifted with cones right, toward the shoulder.
- This shift is anticipated to be in effect through July 2024.
2nd Location
On westbound AND eastbound US-50 between Stockton Boulevard and 26th Street.
What to Expect:
- Traffic on westbound between Stockton Boulevard and 26th Street is shifted to the north (right) to allow work on the median in this segment.
- Traffic on eastbound between Stockton Boulevard and 26th Street is shifted to the south (left) to allow work on the median in this segment.
- Slow down ahead of Stockton Boulevard, stay alert, and follow the driving lanes indicated by cones, K-rails, and other barriers.
Westbound US-50
1st Location
On westbound US-50 between Watt Avenue exit and Howe Avenue exit.
What Lane Should You Be In?
- Motorists should move to the two right lanes (#3 and 4) after the Bradshaw Road exit ahead of the split to access the Howe Avenue exit.
- Move to the two left lanes (#1 and 2) after Bradshaw Road exit if continuing on westbound US-50 toward Midtown or Davis, CA. The left side of the split CANNOT access Howe Avenue exit.
2nd Location
On westbound US-50 between the 65th Street and the 51st Street.
What Lane Should You Be In?
- Motorists should make their way to the two right lanes (#3 and 4) after the Howe Avenue exit ahead of the split to ensure access to the Stockton Boulevard exit.
- After Howe Avenue exit, motorists that aim to continue towards Midtown and Davis, CA should move into the left two lanes.
Eastbound US-50
